SugarCreek’s approach to lab testing is simple. We test every batch of every ready-to-eat product every day.
It is an enormous commitment in time, money and personnel, but the result is indisputable - SugarCreek has never had a product recall.
As the company has grown, so too has our laboratory. It has expanded into a 7-day-a-week operation led by a Ph.D. in microbiology and supported with credentialed chemistry and microbiology technicians.
SugarCreek’s Lab is an off-site operation, where all chemistry and microbiology testing is conducted for all production facilities. This rigorous testing not only assures the food safety of our products, but also assures our customers that our products meet their specifications. A Certificate of Analysis summarizes the testing results, and these certificates are available to our customers.
The chemistry lab has been USDA accredited since 1995 for moisture, fat, protein and salt testing. The microbiology lab is AOAC-proficient for several microbial tests, including those that test for the pathogens Listeria, Salmonella and E.coli O157:H7.
