WATER CONSERVATION PROJECTS:
Re-use of Water for Cleaning of Rotostrainer
- Rather than using heated city water, SugarCreek’s Cambridge City facility utilizes treated wastewater to clean its Rotostrainer. This saves 15,000 gallons of water each and every day.
Wastewater Byproduct Tank Heater
- SugarCreek utilizes a small boiler with a glycol loop to heat the byproduct tank instead of using a constant hot water stream at 100°F. This system upgrade saves an estimated 15,000 gallons of water every day.
Low Flow, High Pressure Nozzles
- SugarCreek uses low flow, high pressure nozzles on hoses used in the sanitation process. This change reduces water consumption during daily cleaning activities.
Oven Cooling Water Re-use
- SugarCreek converts single pass through oven cooling water into a re-circulation loop that is then used for sanitation operations, which saves an additional 20,000 gallons of water per day.
Cooking Water Re-circulation
- Water re-circulates through our oven at the Cambridge City facility, which saves approximately 30,000 gallons of water each day.
